Holding statement – flight SUZ1

A private memorial service for Danny and Floris will take place this weekend at Lelystad Airport, attended by their families, friends, and colleagues. We kindly ask that their privacy continues to be respected as they cope with this immense loss.

With great sadness, we can now confirm the identities of our flight crew who tragically lost their lives on flight SUZ1.

Our two pilots, Captain Danny Marco Franken and First Officer Floris Christiaan Rhee, were both highly respected and cherished colleagues. Their professionalism, dedication, and character will have a lasting impact on all who worked with them.

On request of our customer, we do not release any information on the identities of the medical team that was on board of flight SUZ1.

Our thoughts remain with their families, friends, and all those affected by this devastating loss. Zeusch Aviation continues to offer support to the families and is in close contact with the relevant authorities as investigations continue.

We can confirm that the recovery of those who lost their lives in the tragic SUZ1 flight accident has been completed. Their remains are now in the care of HM Coroner.

The aircraft has been removed from the airport and is being transported to the AAIB facility (Air Accident Investigation Branch) at Farnborough Airport for further investigation. London Southend Airport reopened on the evening of Wednesday, 16 July.

We remain in close cooperation with the investigative authorities and are doing everything possible to support those affected by this tragedy. Our deepest sympathies go out to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives. We stand with them in their grief and remain fully committed to supporting them in every possible way.

At this moment, our full attention is dedicated to ensuring the dignified repatriation of the victims and supporting their families in arranging a respectful farewell.

During this profoundly difficult time, we pause to reflect and express our sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the recovery or provided support in any form. In particular, we want to acknowledge the Essex Police department, London Southend Airport, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, East of England Ambulance Service Trust, Air Traffic Control and the Air Accident Investigation Branch for their dedication and care.

We would like to thank everybody else affected by delays for their patience and understanding.

Further to our previous statements, we can confirm that the four people on board flight SUZ1 were two of our pilots, both valued colleagues, and two medical professionals. All were involved in a medical transport mission.

Zeusch Aviation continues to fully cooperate with the relevant investigative authorities and is providing all possible support to those affected.
